May 23, 2022 – Deep retrofit archetypes will be released with RETScreen Version 9 in October, reports Gregory Leng, creator of the RETScreen Clean Energy Management Software platform.

“Our RETScreen Innovation Lab team is busy working on the final validation and testing stages for a whole new suite of archetypes for our Virtual Energy Analyzer,” writes Leng. “These new archetypes incorporate artificial intelligence to help our users very rapidly prepare pre-feasibility studies in a matter of a few seconds for potential deep carbon-reduction projects, targeting to eliminate at least 80% to 90% GHG emissions at each facility assessed.”

Leng adds this suite of archetypes will grow over time to include a number of commercial, institutional, military and residential buildings, as well as agricultural and industrial facilities.

RETScreen Expert is a comprehensive Clean Energy Management Software platform that enables professionals and decision-makers to identify and assess the viability of potential energy efficiency, renewable energy and co-generation projects. It is also used to measure and verify the actual and ongoing energy performance of buildings, factories and power plants around the world.

Used by over 750,000 people in every country and territory of the world, the software is developed by the Government of Canada in collaboration with international partners.
