CUTRIC announces plans for this year’s ZEB tech and transit conference

TORONTO — Last March, CUTRIC’s inaugural ZEB Technologies & Transit Operations Conference discussed the federal government’s plans for a permanent $3 billion per year transit fund. A year later, the second ZEB conference will explore how that plan has been or could be implemented.

Last year the Canadian government created a $2.75 billion Zero-Emission Transit Fund and announced another $1.5 billion investment through Canada Infrastructure Bank’s Growth Plan which CUTRIC said has allowed them to anticipate growth and new possibilities.

What was once a single day event has been transformed to a two-day event —Mar. 30 to Mar. 31 this year — to allow for more speakers and panelists. CUTRIC said they have planned for 15 expert panels and more than 40 influential speakers for this year’s event.

New Flyer president Chris Stoddart will share insights on the latest in driverless ZEBs, with other participants discussing vehicle and equipment manufacturing, transit agency operations, government incentives, utility management.

Other confirmed speakers include Vince Rodo, director at Brampton Transit, Maureen Cosyn, health director of transit for Hamilton and Cathy Campbell, senior VP for Parsons, Rail & Transit Solutions.
