Retail Sustainability Conference to cover sustainable solutions for the Canadian industry

The inaugural Retail Sustainability Conference will take place on October 3, at the International Centre in Mississauga Ont.

The full-day event is designed to provide networking and learning opportunities to retailers and value chain partners across all disciplines with sector-specific strategies to support a circular economy, build resilient supply chains, establish a route to net zero emissions, and to accelerate ESG solutions across organizations.

RCC’s Retail Sustainability Conference will bring together manufacturers, suppliers, government leaders, and QSR and CPG experts who will address EPR systems, ESG standards, decarbonization, and eco-packaging and explore supply chain optimization and circular economy progression.

The day will be brimming with industry leaders sharing insights on various topics including net-zero and supply chain decarbonization, the EPR landscape and circular economy, sustainability measurement and ESG reporting and technology and innovation in alternative power sources.

The day will begin with a networking breakfast, where Minister David Piccini of Environment, Conservation and Parks (MECP) for Ontario, will kick off the conference.

Galen Weston, President and Chairman of Loblaw Companies Limited will lead a discussion on how industry led solutions are critical to addressing the plastic waste challenge facing Canada.

Himanshu Sudan, CEO & Co-Founder of Jule will present on retail’s eclectic future and how incorporating battery-powered EV charging at various retail sites across Toronto has paved the way for energy savings while serving the growing EV market.

Carrie Chisholm, VP, ESG at Canada Post and Maya Colombani, Chief Sustainability and Human Rights Officer at L’ORÉAL will shed light on the path to a transparent supply chain integration.
